Şırnak University was established on 31.05.2008 according to the additional Article 101 of the Law No. 2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions. The establishment of our Faculty of Fine Arts was decided on 4/6/2018 by the Council of Ministers according to the additional 30th and additional 158th articles of the law dated 28/3/1983 and numbered 2809, upon the proposal of the Ministry of National Education, to put into effect the decision to establish, close and change the names of institutes, faculties and colleges affiliated to some higher education institutions. Two departments, Music and Painting, were established under our faculty. Our music department started education in 2019-2020 with 40 students. Our painting department started education in 2020-2021 with 40 students.
