DEAN'S MESSAGE

Şırnak University Faculty of Fine Arts, which aims to be an educational institution that is primarily preferred in the field of fine arts and pioneers the art to become effective and widespread in society with the creative individuals it will raise, aims to be among the most dynamic, most productive and "able to make a difference" Art Faculties in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Region as of 2020-21 academic year and in Turkey as of 2022-23 academic year. Founded in 2018, our Faculty aims to raise contemporary, creative and free individuals who have universal thoughts and values with a contemporary education approach and who will contribute to the culture of the country and the world through art. In our faculty, where the Painting and Music Departments are active, the establishment of the Cinema and Television Department has reached the final stage. Within our Graduate Education Institute, the "Painting Department, Master's Degree Program with Thesis" will start accepting its first students in the 2020-2021 Spring Semester. Selected in 2019 as the best educational campus of the year, our faculty is located in Şırnak University Mehmet Emin Acar Campus, with its well-equipped workshops, classrooms, exhibition area, film screening and concert hall, laboratory, equipped sound-music studios and competent artist academic staff; It aims to continuously develop with its students in art practices, art theory, art history and art design. In addition, the Elective Courses Unit, whose art courses are carried out by the staff of our faculty, aims to provide. The participation of our academic staff in artistic and scientific activities at national and international level is supported and especially international collaborations are given importance. In addition to the protocols signed with various universities, studies are carried out for our students and faculty members to benefit from the ERASMUS program to gain experience abroad. The faculty members of our faculty; In order to contribute to the development of education, to enable the versatile development of our students, to improve the physical equipment and infrastructure, they undertake the execution of various projects and take an active role in cultural, artistic and scientific activities. Our faculty aims to continuously develop as a contemporary, unique and strong educational institution both at the practical level and intellectually with exhibitions, applied symposiums, conferences and interviews, concerts and film screenings. In addition to aiming to educate individuals who have internalized the privileged value of art, who have the highest level of knowledge and equipment in their fields, who have high self-confidence, creativity and vision; our faculty also plans to work on our graduates to have working opportunities where they can use their knowledge and experience and creativity in various fields. Academic freedom, cooperation in a participatory environment, innovation and creativity in the field of art education and research, social responsibility and free communication environment are our core values.
